I just read one that said 1944-1964. But I've always heard and read it

described as commencing "post-war" and usually 1945- 1965. I guess technically with VE day in early May 1945 and VJ day in August 1945 your 1946 is more appropriate than my 1945 for post-war babies.

My dad left England for South Dakota in April 1945, after navigating a B-17. They were being retrained for the Asian theater, awaiting reassignment, when we dropped the big ones. But he didn't get sent home until VJ day. If he was married then and had had a kid as soon as humanly possible.... it would have been a 1946 birth.
