Again, that's just wrong about the draft.

Conscription never ended after WWII (remember Willie Mays and Elvis?) It stepped up beginning in 1965 to supply the army and "encourage" young men to enlist. There is no 1968 Chicago without the draft. Just surprised that you are so far off.

One of every 104 draftees from June 1965, the beginning of the Vietnam build‐up, to June, 1969, was killed in action. In the army, which has shouldered the burden of the ground fighting, one out of every two soldiers who died in combat were draftees. This doesn't count casualties who would suffer long after the war. I have two good friends damaged by Agent Orange and another with his balls shot off.
