I don't know if that would be enough to cover it, but it's a good place to


start. But I've heard no one, literally no one else in either party make any kind of proposal like this. Most of them are binary; Medicare for all or repeal ACA and pull yourself up by your bootstraps or die. (Ok in fairness some go with the public option.)

There are two problems I have with your proposal though. Coverage is not universal and there is still too much involvement from private insurers. I'm not in favor of eliminating them entirely as a choice, at least not yet. My preference would be to go part of the way there with a public option of some kind. But I think for-profit insurers add cost to the system and aren't reliable in payout. Protections against pre-existing conditions and lifetime maximums need to stay.
