Because there is absolutely no chance in your mind that uncooperative
legislators would be "primaried" by the all-in Bern base the way repubs are by Trump?
I'll grant you that lefties IMO have a deeply under-developed tactical muscle. Too much emotion, not enough cold, emotionless calculating. So maybe Bern fans will be less organized about it than Trumpies are. But seemingly unimaginable things keep happening.
A week or so ago you gave Bern a 0% chance of being the nominee. Now, you give his policies a 0% chance of being implemented as pres. Let's just say I wouldn't assign 0% odds to anything nowadays.
In business, I try to always plan for the worst. When I think about the worst outcomes of a Trump second term or of a Bern 1st term, I probably come down on "easier to repair Bern's damage". With the humility of an unclear crystal ball in mind, I do think the dems are running into a Gatling Gun. Trump impeached, acquitted, and not just re-elected, but re-elected with a renewed majority in the House. That's a much scarier (and likelier, unfortunately) outcome to me than Bern and a Congress that should have repub majorities in the senate, if not both chambers.
