Sure Drexel was a broker dealer...
But you’re kind of making my point for me...after the fall of Drexel, and the Global Settlement a decade later, the compliance rules for executives at Broker dealers were ramped up significantly...none of these guys (including the Loeffler) are allowed to maintain proprietary trading accounts...they outsource management of their assets, and those managers’ trades are reported to the broker dealer compliance teams monthly, and compared to the firms’ watch/restricted lists...it’s almost impossible for sr executives at BDs to get away with trading on non-public info...including family members
