I'm not sure if Biden can get away with it, but he needs to

decline to participate in any debates. He's been playing it smart so far by staying away from the media and limiting any exposure to making gaffes. If he gets up on the debate stage and blunders around talking about how the Soviet Union is his friend because he's buddies with Stalin and will solve Chinese aggression by ending the Boxer Rebellion, it's going to be a disaster.
