I agree the recent increases are concerning, but one thing to recognize

is that the 52K cases resulted from 621K tests. Going back to the previous highs in April when we peaked at 36K daily cases, there were 277K tests. So the real number of daily cases are likely quite a bit below the peak in April.

Hospitalizations are also currently 40% lower than the peak in April.

So still alarming, but not (yet) as bad as it was during the initial surge of cases back in Mar/April
