Yep, started as a student at the NRAO scientific HQ in C'ville, then after

graduation, out at the VLA during construction and systems integration (got "first light" on many of the antennas), then 10 years back in C'ville on data analysis software and systems for it, before being seduced by NASA to develop Hubble image de-blurring software at the Goddard Supercomputer Center (NCCS), and after Hubble was retrofitted, did several more years in the Laboratory for High Energy Astrophysics doing X-Ray astronomy before going the contractor route doing software engineering.
