Viruses do not go away because of lock downs (look at LA/California). There is some evidence to suggest the virus peters out around 15-20% infected. If you want to say data is accepted here, you have to acknowledge that people that don't have underlying conditions under the age of 65 are generally not at risk to be seriously ill. Of course it happens like it does with the flu but we don't shutdown or keep schools closed because of the flu. The overwhelming majority of positive cases are young and healthy. So we could see a 5x jump in cases but only a 1.5x jump in ICU occupancy 2/3 weeks later.

Desantis was extremely proactive (before NYC had any real issues) about protecting LTC facilities and that's why his death per million statistic is a tiny fraction of that of NJ and NY AND that's why we aren't seeing exponential growth in deaths. And I don't suspect we see that at all 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 6 weeks from now.
