Masks, masks, masks! If little Johnny doesn’t wear his mask send his
ass home. If little Johnny has to be sent home more than once he has to virtually attend school. This is a great opportunity for schools to get the power back wrt discipline.
Keep classes segregated so if there is an outbreak it’s fairly contained.
Have teachers move classrooms not students.
Lunch in classroom.
Put up a clear screen/shower curtain to separate teachers from class.
The major issue is transportation. 12-15 students per bus is not viable, I have stops with more than that and some drivers have stops with 40-50 at one time. Hanover is having parents request transportation and the county is “awarding” transportation by distance and need from what I’ve been told.
I think waiting 9 weeks is approaching this backwards. It should have been addressed like business reopening, staggered by grade with the youngest going first and evaluation after 9 weeks to see what works and what doesn’t.
