but it does seem like one of the relatively few Confederate statues that imo are better left alone. He's being honored at a military institution as an exceptional military commander, in multiple conflicts, and a Virginian, at a place he was directly tied to as a member of the faculty. It's not like a Jefferson Davis or Lee statue thrown up in front of a random southern court house in1920 in a Lost Cause white supremacist intimidation effort.
