If it tightens back up to look more like ‘16. That might have made the difference in PA, MI, and WI, if not also OH. If the election were next week, I don’t think it would matter.
The Trump campaign is intent on characterizing the Biden ticket as far left, and I think this pick derails that, as much as his loyalists will try to resist it. A Biden/Harris ticket won’t embrace things like defunding the police.
I do think dems generally will embrace higher taxes, which might be problematic at this point in the covid recovery, which is tenuous at best. So while I suspect I’ll find plenty to complain about in a dem platform these days, it’s a matter of national priorities. Certainly imo, nothing is more important than ending Trumpism. The more severely, the better, to hopefully shake the repub party loose from its extreme right fringe, to which it is now a hostage.
