I'm hoping this is the last gasp for a couple of ugly Dem stereotypes

Biden: the Reagan-aping Democrat who thinks the only way to victory is to out-Republican the Republicans. (The rise of Pete Buttigieg indicates that plenty of this species still exist.)

Harris: the prosecutor who built a career off the backs of the victims of the criminal justice system.

Anyway, she's plenty competent - probably more so than Biden, and she at least hand-waved at actual progressive politics during her campaign. Her spot on the ticket is undeniably historic, and if she becomes president some day, it will be even more historic. So I'll take it. Anything is better than what we have now.

Not looking forward to the months (lord willing, years) of racist and sexist attacks - and not just from the right, even if they'll make most of them.
