I don't disagree at all with your last sentence and I voted for Biden
in the primary. Biden was one of the candidates I was least excited about. I had zero interest in voting for him. But after SC, he was clearly the best choice of stopping Bernie and beating Trump. Not that I hate Bernie, but I think he'd lose to Trump. So I voted Biden to vote against Trump. And I trust he will surround himself with competent people. A current Senator and former state AG is a good start.
In my mind, women are the key. I saw it in my district in 2018 when Spanberger took down Brat. That was a microcosm of what happened across the country. So to get people excited for the ticket (and no Biden doesn't do it) and not solely to vote against Trump, they needed a woman. And given the current environment, a black woman made the most sense. So they picked the most qualified one out there.
