I see Rocky as a love story between people looking for redemption.

IMO, boxing was the background to tell their stories. It is probably my favorite movie of all time. Even the villain (Apollo) was a man of honor.

In the first scene of Rocky, a girl calls Rocky a no nothing loser who'll never be anybody. That sets the tone for the movie.

Rocky - trying to be somebody by going the distance with Creed.

Adrian - trying to prove she's somebody from Pauley's abuse.

Micky - wants that last shot at a title through Rocky.

Pauley - a loser who pretends to be somebody
