It is most definitely not. If that’s the idea, then it’s on its death bed.
It’s just a question of time. Which could be a while, but demographics are clear - the old white dudes comprising the majority of the white grievance part of this story aren’t living forever.
The other choices are somehow Mitt and Co. take the party back to its older Reagan small govt roots, or it continues this shift many pundits see to the party of the non-college educated working class. Some saw more non-white support for Trump this year. Given all the mail in voting, especially on the dem side, I’m not sure that’s clear, but it did happen in S FL, and it’s possible that it’s more widespread.
That’s an interesting possibility. It certainly wouldn’t be a white grievance party. It might be a culturally conservative class grievance party that might find common ground with traditional dem economic values. Already has on trade. A free trade guy like me is a man without a party right now.
