I disagree with your assessment. The next 4 years for Trump won't occur in

a vacuum. Those 4 years will occur for Trump without the shield of the presidency. Trump is going to have a shitload of lawsuits and loan calls to deal with in the next four years. Those problems will occupy a lot of Trump's time, and strongly color his motivations. Donald Trump will always do what is good for Donald Trump. He's not going to go out of his way to do what's good for the Republican party. As time elapses, the divergence between what is good for Trump, and what is good for the Republican party will become more and more apparent. By 2024, he will have spent 4 years trying to raise funds to fight his personal legal battles and employing lies and half-truths to stay relevant. As time goes on, people will become more and more tired of Donald Trump and his huckster antics, and without the platform of the presidency, fewer people will see advantage in putting up with his bullshit.
