Serious COVID discussion question...
...there was some talk in an earlier thread today about this, and a number of posters have posted "cases rising" posts today, so this seems timely.
Let's stipulate for the sake of this thread that all the data is accurate and meaningful, so we're not arguing about that. Let's also stipulate that everything bad that has happened up to now is entirely Trump's fault, so we're not arguing about that either. So, here are the questions:
1) What policy changes do you think we should make right now to deal with COVID?
2) What are your reasons -- e.g., where else have you seen these measures taken and be successful?
3) If your measures require Americans to take certain actions, how would you enforce them? In other words, an effective answer is not "we should all wear masks" because some people clearly aren't willing to do that on their own.
4) What are the costs associated with your recommendations?
I ask these questions sincerely because I don't know the answers. I am not overly concerned about COVID, but even if I were, I truly don't see what we could be doing differently to make a meaningful difference (particularly at an acceptable cost).
Have at it.
