You said Trump did more than the call of duty in his COVID response.
That was one of many PROBLEMS. Trump conned people like you into believing he did more than necessary ... that nothing elsw could be done. Thus, Trump and his followers became liabilities.
Here's a start ... don't be a liability. Wear a mask among strangers, especially indoors. Don't hold super spreader events. Wash your hands. Practice physical distancing when necessary. Take the virus seriously and believe you can make a difference.
You keep asking about cost. We are fully aware of the costs. That's why it was critical to maintain a low base of infections going into the Fall/Winter. No one sane said the virus would go away ... but imperative we keep the curve as flat as possible. The goal was to limit outbreaks ... so to normalize the economy as much as possible.
There is no policy. There's just common sense and common courtesy. It's about properly educating Americans of the virus. Not some dumbass continuing to downplay it and then claim we're rounding the corner beautifully while holding maskiess super rallies ... right after getting out of ICU. You can't make this shit up.
You claim you don't have the answers but "truly" don't see what we could be doing to make a meaningful difference. If you don't have the answers, then why do you act like do? How about just not being a liability? It's not a hard ask.
As for costs ... the key is to bring confidence back to our producers and consumers. How do you think leaders do that in the face of adversity? Some dumbass President constantly downplaying and lying about a pandemic to the point constituents are confused, skeptical, distrustful ... even to a vaccine? You seem to think there are only costs associated with a potential shutdown. Your mind can't grasp the idea that massive outbreaks and distrust of our leadership could have even larger costs in the long run.
The vaccine appears to be a good news. However, it won't be available to the masses until the Spring most likely. Until then, let's not be liabilities. Follow the CDC guidelines. It's not that hard.
