If back in, say, April, Trump had gone on national TV and told people what we knew then there would be many, many fewer fatalities. Heck, Stanford had an article a week or two ago that said that Trump rallies were the cause of thousands of additional cases and hundreds of additional deaths. You said it's still spreading where you are so the steps that have been take don't work. Nobody said masks are a cure. It's not that something cures or it's useless. If masks slow the exponential spread of this then it's a very good thing. We know this and have for a long time. Your post started with "serious discussion" but it's not.
