Right. Because public health measures generally are indefensible.

Or public safety measures generally. In your extreme worldview, apparently. Why should govt tell me I can’t barrel down the FDR in NYC at 150 mph? If I want to kill myself, that’s on me. And if I happen to cause a 10 car pile up killing others, too bad for them, huh? They should’ve considered that before getting on the highway!

The overwhelming evidence is that my decision to wear a mask impacts the health and well being of those around me, and potentially the entire HC system around me, as hospitals potentially get overwhelmed. If one infected person in a crowded space is unmasked, that increases risks to all those in that space with him, even if they are all masked.

That’s what the studies show. In this country, the rights of the one asshole in my scenario do not outweigh the rights of all the others in the crowded space with him.
