Utopian thinking of all kinds is the birthplace of many of the worst evils in human history. Seat belts and masks - one thing about your analogy is on point - they are both innocuous and represent no infringement on our freedom at all. No worse than a requirement preventing you walking around your neighborhood buck naked. I presume you also consider that to be an unreasonable infringement on your personal freedom.
