What are the motives ?

Serious question. What does the cdc gain from having overly restricting guidelines?

The cdc also recommends not drinking alcohol at all. A recommendation that I easily ignore. But I don’t gnash my teeth over their recommendation and search for ulterior motives. They’re a health organization that doesn’t necessarily balance other factors beyond just health in their recommendations.
