The CDC should be honest with the American people

The level of scrutiny any COVID policies face before being released makes bureaucratic oversight implausible, so it begs the question why does the CDC continue to advocate overly draconian restrictions with little or no scientific grounding (or, in this case, counter to established science which discourages the use of soiled or wet masks, which will inevitably happen when kids are running around outside in the summer)?
