I wouldn't have responded to the original post (although I don't think the CDC is "virtue signaling" either). There's no doubt the CDC is and has been overly cautious in their recommendations. They're a health organization and that is their primary focus so they err on purely the public health side of things and don't tend to balance that with practical realities so much. That's what policy makers should do.

But with JPM, the angle is always about the conspiracy. If he was simply saying the CDC is ridiculously and needlessly cautious with their guidance, I think he'd get a lot less pushback.
