The withdrawal from Afghanistan is a black eye for the US in terms of
international policy, but it isn't going to change the power balance in NATO. The US is still militarily speaking stronger than the rest of NATO combined. Its just a lot of griping with no actual weight behind it. The US is still more essential to the goals of NATO than any country in the world. They'll complain publicly, but it won't result in any changes to how NATO conducts military operations. And if it did, and the other NATO states decided they needed to be less dependent on the US military, and put more money into their own armies, then it benefits all of NATO including the US.
