That, and the insistence by so many progressive dems that they are

Socialists. None of them want the government to own all the means of production in this country, which is what socialism actually is. They mean “Danish socialism”. Which basically means “very progressive”. But for some reason they’d rather brand themselves as “socialists”.

Gifts from heaven to Trumpism. I strongly suspect that if dems never uttered words like “defund the police” or “I’m a proud Scandinavian socialist”, Biden would have done at least as well as Hillary with S FL Hispanic voters, and carried Florida. Which would have ended the Republican coup attempt of 2020 before it could gain any real steam.

Who knows if it really would have played out that way, since I can’t test the hypothesis, but the dems took care of providing the repubs with all their best campaign slogans in 2020, that’s for sure.
