If reducing funding for school policing had anything to do with a spike in violence. Or with violent crime spikes all over the country. The fact that those spikes coincide with the rise of the slogan “defund the police” is all that matters.

In politics, there’s no need to establish causation. Correlation is more than enough. There are cities and locales run by progressives who got caught up in the fever to defund. Some just started talking about it without acting. Many have reversed course in the face of alarming crime stats. Repubs will of course magnify every example of that - as would dem politicos in their shoes.
