Fair enough, but that's not happening, so the quandary remains...
The R party as it stands today -- i.e., with a strong and politically necessary MAGA base -- ain't going back to the GWB/Romney/McCain days. No offense to guys like Boca, but the new R party understands the nature of today's left and the threat it poses to America, and getting one's feathers ruffled by the crudities of a guy like Trump just isn't an option right now.
The emphasis instead is on nominating actual fighters for our beliefs (i.e., not Romney) and expanding the party's reach into minority and blue-collar segments of the population where unabashed pro-America, foundational, Main Street policies will resonate. If the Bocas of the world want to return to the fold, they're more than welcome, but I think it's going to be a bit rough around the edges over here for awhile politically as we straighten some shit out. There's a political realignment in progress, and the NeverTrumpers are currently caught in the middle.
