I think it might be the lowest hanging fruit in addressing our national

divisions. If there were more contested districts, there would be fewer - I hope far fewer - that would elect an Ilhan Omar or Marjorie Taylor Greene. Bipartisanship and compromise, the backbone of the country, would be rewarded, whereas now it is punished.

But it's not really low hanging fruit, because too many pols want to hold power more than they want to strengthen the democracy.
