There's no race going on, and it doesn't need to be a political event. Encouraging 22 yr olds to learn civility at their graduation from college isn't the same as saying always be civil in competitive campaigns.

I'll say this: what really got me to post was ryno's belief that pols should be excluded from things like this. My point is we should encourage kids to be engaged, at least enough to not take our system of laws for granted. At least understand the importance of voting. And these kids who walked out are engaged. And you could argue they expressed themselves with civility.

Not an action I'd encourage at a graduation ceremony, but I ain't the bossman.
