Castile had no violent criminal record -- the officer should have had access to that information. The scene, with a child in the car, made it less likely that an altercation would take place. And his friend, Reynolds, said that he wasn't reaching for the gun and "You told him to get his ID, sir, his driver's license." His "trigger finger" had a bullet wound — and there was no corresponding bullet damage nor wounds in the area of Castile’s right shorts pocket.
I'm not judging whether Yanez should have been found guilty under Minnesota law, but he killed a guy, and that is a tragedy.
