I think the answer is nobody knows for certain how
they are going to handle the stress of a life and death situation, perceived or real. Training can only do so much. I think the 99% of these guys have good intentions and are in the profession for the right reasons. And I wouldn't characterize this guy as a meathead.
I worked with a Richmond City cops wife a few years ago. He is black and killed a black 20 something during a drug bust. Completely legitimate shooting, but he left the force soon after because he couldn't deal with those situations like he thought he could. So not every cop whose involved in a shooting leaves because they are bad cops.
One thing about cops assuming blacks are violent. Don't you think it's kinda hard not to when 60% of cop murders are committed by 15% of the population.
