From the responses given to the threads, it seems like there are four* reactions to procedure being used:

(1) It does not matter because nothing will pass and the Republicans know this. My issue: What if something does pass? Does this procedure matter at that point?

(2) Democrats did it too! And they are worse! Even accepting that the Democrats did the same thing with the ACA (which is a bad assumption), how do two wrongs make a right? Why don't you try to justify the approach rather than just use an argument familiar to 5 year olds?

(3) This is a violation of the legislative process that the rule of law and democracy depends upon. This is my view.

(4) You need to make the sausage in secret. There is definitely some truth to this and I can sympathize with this view but I think it is wrong. In foreign affairs for sure this is true. I also agree with WahooMatt05 that this is more justifiable when the secret negotiations result in a bill that starts the process, but that it is not appropriate for a final bill.
