we're clearly seeing this play out (in a pretty ugly way) through our political process. Whether I like it or not, I think we end up with single payer, hopefully with a more efficient system than we have now.

It will be interesting to see how this unfolds. Unfortunately, not everyone today has taxpayer-funded GEHA insurance like you probably do.

Not that my perspective matters, but I'm most interested in seeing the total bill come down So much inefficiency built into the system we have today, strong special interest groups (and the "leaders" they pay off), etc. just have us in a terrible place. Address that and the conversation about universal coverage should become easier.
