was apparently in response to being questioned about calling (when apparently it hadn't even been cleared to do until Mon, and then scheduled for Tues.). But yes, once again Trump was unable to resist his default reaction of attacking back and not behaving Presidential.

But with regards to that phone call (the point of this thread), Ms. Wilson chose to make that political in an effort to slam him and politically grandstand. She did it in a less than honest way wrt how she depicted the call IMO. And did so strictly for political purposes. Obama or Hillary could've spoken the exact same words, and I strongly doubt she would've depicted it the same way.
