For once I agree with you 100%.


It was a considered choice, and they made the less courageous, never mind honest, one. So now if they're fucked, it's mostly on them.

That said, for some reason it was important to them to try to get a Republican vote on this. Though they never did, and should have seen early on they never would, many of the flaws in Ocare, maybe including this one, stem from the original desire to make it palatable to at least one mythical unicorn moderate Republican.
