I wish one of the sausage makers would write a book


So much about ACA did not make sense. Some of the selling points were either deception, lack of curiosity, or incompetence.

- the low penalty would incent health folks to sign up
- expanding to the pre-existing condition group would not be inflationary ("average premiums going down $2,500/family")
- if you like your policy...
- bringing in the previously uninsured (largely low-income who would pay nothing/little in because of subsidies) would not be inflationary (see above)

Little made sense about these claims, and unfortunately we're seeing the correct interpretation of ACA's structure playing out.
