Am simply saying that an election doesn't negate findings of wrongdoing and
an impeachment that may ensue. Impeachment is the constitutional remedy regardless of who is in power or where the electoral calendar happens to be.
Frankly, while a 2018 election placing the Democrats in control of the House would be an indication of Donald's diminishing popularity, it would do nothing in terms of the Trump dilemma. In fact, the mantra then would be any attempts at impeachment are a Democratic vendetta. For that reason, if and when there is evidence enough to indict and try or to impeach, it must be done. The constitution does not specify as to what time frame is permissible or politically expedient for that.
