If the bonuses continue next year or if companies create jobs here or if


this law actually does shrink the deficit I will be the loudest cheerleader. I suspect what's going on is more PR than economics. I think it was AT&T that announced $1,000 bonuses for 20,000 people a few days ago. Total cost is $20MM. Their advertising budget is 3.3 BILLION dollars (See link). Seems to me they just bought some great PR and political advertising for a very low price. Who wants to bet the bonuses are NOT repeated next year?
