Really? How so? personally I'm having a hard time

figuring out how it will effect me . I could see most people seeing some benefit in the first year or so of the changes, but that likely goes away over time from the phase out of deductions and the tagging of brackets to a faster rising index.
But Dan's point is that we are borrowing to give people and businesses tax cuts at a time when the economy is doing okay. That's not necessary right now, and that makes it a bad thing for everyone.

How will we pay for these cuts?There is no reason to believe that tax cuts will solve the fundamental causes of job losses in this country. Therefore there is no reason to believe this will provide any lasting turbocharge to the economy.

Can we cut expenses? Well, do we really think it is a good idea to cut funding for the poor, the unemployed, the sick, the aged, without actually addressing the demand, the NEED, for such support. We could look at defense, but probably won't.
