on impeachment. Your second paragraph about being "above the law" could not be less consistent with the Constitution IMO. Clearly, all crimes are not impeachable, and the impeachment clause is probably most concerned with ensuring elections are not overturned for purely political reasons, and has nothing at all to do with anyone being above the law. It is a political process. That's the "duty to impeach" argument you see from some dems, which I think is wrong, and is probably the opposite of the conclusion they'd reach with pres Hill in these exact circumstances.

Clinton was not removed from office, in a process that was purely political and strictly only along party lines. The Constitution worked in preventing that. But Clinton did break the law, for which he was disbarred in a purely symbolic move that did nothing to his professional life as a former pres, but it drove home that nobody is above the law. That's how it should work IMO.
