Home schooling can work. My wife basically did that in the spring


I thought the kids did alright, as she was essentially their teacher for a few months. But this fall she starts teaching, so home schooling is not an option at home with two working parents. Keeping my rising second grader involved is something that needs hands on experience. Telling the kids to spend an hour on a reading or math app just doesn't cut it.

We're just dealing with two subjects now, and the kids hate the math app so much we are using worksheets from books we have. It takes a lot of effort to make it work. And with two working parents, it's not always possible to put in the required effort.
