assets by billions of dollars to get approved for a loan (assuming that is what the evidence shows) there is no question of art vs. science. It's fraud, plain and simple, and it's a crime.

And yes, banks are required to have robust anti-fraud programs to catch much more sophisticated fraud activity than some scumbag lying on an application, which really should be low-hanging fruit to any bank not willfully turning a blind eye.
