I think we all acknowledge that schools have broad authority to establish


A set of rules and hold students accountable for it. Universities are not like corporations where you can sue them simply for wrongly termination AFAIK. The legal aspect is only one part of this ... the idea that the university would even want to establish this particular conduct - challenging a lecturer earnestly but civilly - as against the rules (with the strong implication that what your questioning plays a serious role) is the larger issue IMO. The fact that the speaker’s argument that was being questioned was very flimsy only makes it worse. It deserves to be challenged.
