doing in terms of setting their own higher minimum wages? I would guess you think "yes", but maybe you still really want to see a significantly higher Federal floor (which I think gets very concerning depending on that final number to a heck of a lot of rural areas of this country). IMO it is not even debatable that local governments (whether really local or state) are in a better position to try and "know their own areas" including local issues much better than the Feds, so a sensible structure seems to be keeping something Federal that is not trying to split every hair for local situations (so likely keeping a generally lower number -- truly, how do even begin to compare San Francisco vs. Omaha) but localities really run the show -- set whatever numbers they want, try and determine if they are doing things that may be hurting certain type of temp jobs so make their own exceptions, etc...

It just seems to be that this is exactly what has been happening for some time (with mixed results, but that is reality) but as this has been happening, it doesn't seem to feel good enough for some -- which then makes one wonder about the real goal and the integrity of the debate.
