I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The sad thing is the Dems
missed a golden opportunity IMO to get much of what they wanted done, or at least a reasonable compromise. I disagree Trump was not different than Pence. Folks like Pence and Ted Cruz have core beliefs I do think are dangerous to this country, and I think they believe a higher power tells them that's OK. (Cruz being even more dangerous because he's also very smart, but thankfully totally unlikable) I don't believe Trump had any core beliefs, other than loving himself and tooting his own horn, and would've signed just about anything as long as he could stand up there and claim it was the greatest ever and he deserved all the credit.
You could've had reasonable immigration reform and compromise. You could've had a reasonable compromise on abortion. We saw progress on ME peace. We saw no new or expanded wars. We saw economic growth we should all want. And the list goes on and on. Unfortunately what we saw the last 4 yrs was instead of compromise, the "alternative" was presented as even more extreme in the opposite direction (i.e. immigration, abortion, etc.). That is the definition of creating division.
