What's this?

Given the dollars involved, my guess is this wasn't driven by the


"Jet owner's lobby" but more by the companies that provide the services that are currently subject to the tax. I can't imagine anyone able to afford a jet cares too much about a $500 tax break or would spend any "time in the swamp" lobbying to get it removed.

But yeah, optics matter so I can't imagine why anyone would pick this meaningless battle. You're giving your opponent a stick and begging them to whack you over the head with it... and for no real gain.
