A band aid. Medicare is a sucking chest wound and a band aid won’t cut it. That’s because healthcare spending increases y/y at more than 8% and inflation and growth MAY hit 4% on a good year.

The problems with healthcare are variedbut we have issues with conflicting incentives — not just between payors, consumers, and providers — between providers. The way we deliver care is monumentally inefficient. We talk about bureaucracy and admin in medicine. You won’t believe how many people’s job it is to negotiate payments from insurers. I’ll post my thoughts about this in the next couple of weeks when I have the time. It’s very interesting and there is so much low hanging fruit in the healthcare sector that independently each one may not make much difference, but mickles make the muckles
