Political Gerrymandering: Alabama Edition

If the Jones/Moore race had been a congressional race fought in the 7 districts of Alabama, Republicans would have won 6 out of 7 seats.

This means that in a state where Republicans lost the popular vote, they would have won 85% of the Congressional seats. That is ridiculous. I hope the Supreme Court puts an end to this practice.

As a side note, the media coverage of such an election would be the exact opposite. With the same vote totals, the story would be that Republicans win a smashing victory and all the pundits would be questioning the Democratic party today. Horse-race political reporting is stupid as well.
